- Many large victorian homes, three of which are open to tour.
- Amelia Earhart was born in one of these homes and Atchison hosts the Amelia Earhart Festival on the 3rd Friday and Saturday in July. Amelia's influence is marked with the presence of the International Forest of Friendship and the Amelia Earhart Earthwork portrait, both at Warnock Lake just Southwest of town.
- Atchison is home to Benedictine College which has a beautiful campus of old and new buildings with huge trees. Atchison also claims to be the most haunted town in Kansas and hosts Haunted Trolley Tours during September and October, in addition to charter tours at other times.
Atchison River Rods club has been in existence for 35 years. The cars range from survivors to total restorations and from rat rods to flashy street rods. Our dues are $20 per family per year. There is no recruitment policy. Membership dues pay for liability insurance, corporation fees, and cruise night costs including dash plaques and flyers to hand out at car shows.
